Starry Night Small Vase by Mike Teal | 7.5” Porcelain Wheel-Thrown Pottery
A dreamy blend of artistry and function, the Starry Night Small Vase is hand-thrown in porcelain and glazed with swirling depth reminiscent of a night sky. Standing 7.5 inches tall and 3 inches wide, this striking vase is both a decorative statement and a functional piece of stoneware.
Fired at Cone 6 in an electric kiln and finished with mid-range commercial glazes, this piece brings a modern edge to traditional ceramic technique.
About the Artist:
Mike Teal, an award-winning ceramicist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, brings decades of experience and intention to each handmade piece. With a BFA and MA in ceramics from The University of Tulsa, Mike’s work celebrates form, function, and personal expression. His pieces are collected nationwide and one is currently displayed at The University of Tulsa’s College of Engineering.
Artist Statement:
"The art of pottery gets its strength from its traditional elements and techniques. My work is made to be used—and its beauty comes from that utility. I hope each piece communicates the personal connection I feel when working with clay."
